Kucinich on Rachel Maddow

So far Dennis Kucinich is the only one explaining anything about this bailout in a way that makes sense. If only more people were listening. Then we wouldn't be stuck with this stupid bailout bill....

Dennis Kucinich on the new Bailout Bill

Congressman Kucinich explains why the bailout bill won't work, shouldn't have been passed, and what we should have been doing instead.

Olberman on Kucinich's articles of impeachment

Okay, first I must say that I was recently discussing blogging with friends and they were talking about how much time they spent on their blogs and carefully choosing each word and tracking down the right links... My blog? Not so much. Pretty much all video links. And I thought to myself at that time that I was going to stop doing that and try to make this an actual blog with actual things that are interesting to read on it.

That being said, I just came across this video on Dennis Kucinich's site, which I thought was fabulous and should be out there as much as possible for people to find. It's Keith Olberman's segment on Kucinich's articles of impeachment, and it's amazing. I love Keith Olberman...

Impeachment's Not Newsworthy??

Last night I received an email from the Kucinich folks informing me that an historical event was taking place -- Dennis Kucinich was on the floor of congress introducing 35 articles of impeachment for President Bush. Google News had stories posted from both Reuters and AP announcing that this was happening. At that moment I did something I had never done before -- I turned on C-SPAN!

There was Dennis Kucinich, standing in a nearly empty room, reading these articles, and all of the data he had gathered backing them up. He spoke tirelessly for nearly 3 hours. You could tell when he got to an article that he really liked and he would smile and shake his head in disbelief as he spoke.

This was one of the greatest things I have ever seen. He just went right down his list - bam, bam, bam - until he had gone through all 35. But the most spectacular thing about this? Searching this morning, there was no mention of it anywhere. CNN, MSNBC, local news outlets... nothing. I did find two small stories; one on USA Today and one on ABC News, but both were buried deep and took some searching to find.

Now is it just me, or is a Congressman introducing THIRTY-FIVE DIFFERENT ARTICLES OF IMPEACHMENT not something that should FRONT-PAGE NEWS on every station?? Is it because the media doesn't want these articles to go anywhere?

Nancy Pelosi for some reason has said that impeachment is "off the table" but I'm not sure I understand what gives her the right to decide for the country that we're not going to pursue our legal right to oust a dishonest and most probably criminal man from the highest office in our government. Why should Bush not be held accountable for his actions? Aren't the checks and balances that were written into our constitution purposefully put there to ensure that no one branch has the opportunity to abuse their power? What happened to those checks and balances anyway??

In my most recent search I've found that most of the B-media outlets are picking up this story and running with it. There's an extensive list on Google News. My favorite headline is from rawstory.com - Mainstream media yawns as Kucinich offers impeachment.

Salem-News.com has reported the "Kucinich Website Crippled Under Suspicious Circumstances Following Introduction of Impeachment Articles." Hmmm.... Pretty interesting.

The articles themselves can be found in PDF form here on democrats.com or here on chun.afterdowningstreet.com.

Personally, I'd like to encourage everyone to click through to the media outlets that are covering this story and stumbleupon, digg, reddit, blog, link to facebook, and do whatever else you can to get these articles into a place where someone NOT looking for them may actually see them. If this isn't the most important news out there, I'm not quite sure what is...

For those of you who don't feel like clicking around right now, here's the full list of the 35 articles of impeachment. To see the documentation behind it you'll have to view the full pdf.
